THOR'S SAGA to premiere at The Black Diamond, September 7th.
Ulla Boje Rasmussen's long awaited documentary THOR'S SAGA will open with a first public screening at The Black Diamond in Central Copenhagen, Wednesday September 7th at 19:00. The premiere is only by invitation.
Seen from the perspective of the extraordinary family of the Thors, THOR'S SAGA is a unique piece of Nordic business history covering 150 years of Iceland's modern history. From being an impoverished remote Danish colony, through independence and fortune, up until the recent collapse of the central banks threatening Iceland with state bankruptcy.
Boje Rasmussen has worked on the film for several years bringing to the public never-seen-before archive materials on the Thors family's founder Thor Jensen, as well as spectacular scenes from the inside of the business life of Jensen's great grandchild Björgólfur Thor Björgólfsson.
THOR'S SAGA is co-produced by Icelandic TCFilms in a fruitful collaboration of Icelandic and Danish film professionals.
Prior to the premiere is a debate conference arranged by Børsen Executive Club and Norden i Fokus to be held at the Danish Film Institute. The debate will focus on the status of the crisis in Iceland and the perspective on the recovery of the Icelandic economy.
